Spirit of the Holy God sanctifies believers

 When we receive the Holy Spirit, we are sanctified. Sanctification is the process of becoming more and more like God. It is not something we can do on our own;

it is something that God does in us.

The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our desires. He gives us a new desire to please God. We begin to want to do things that are pleasing to Him and we start to avoid things that are not, the more we yield to the Holy Spirit, the more our desires will change. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our thoughts. He helps us to see things from God’s perspective. We begin to think like God thinks. This is a process that takes time, but as we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, we will start to think more and more like God. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our words. He helps us to speak words that are pleasing to God. We begin to avoid words that are not. This is not always an easy process. We may struggle to find the right words to say. But the more we yield to the Holy Spirit, the more our words will change. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our actions. He gives us the power to do what is right. We begin to act in ways that are pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our emotions. He helps us to feel the way God wants us to feel. We begin to experience the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit sanctifies us by changing our character. He helps us to become more like Jesus. We begin to show the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

The Holy Spirit is a powerful source of strength and guidance in the life of a believer. Through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, believers are empowered to live a life that is pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit also provides guidance and comfort to believers during times of difficulty. The Holy Spirit is a vital part of the Christian life, and believers should seek to daily yielded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
