The Rich Birth And Life Of Jesus

The Rich Birth And Life Of Jesus

This Christmas is very special for everybody and all are affected financially in a way or another.

Therefore I want to focus on the economical status of Jesus this year.

Unlike what I've been told my whole life that Jesus was poor I discovered that he was the wealthiest baby at his birth and a rich person when he lived on this earth.

Churches still preach about how poor Jesus was and this false image should be changed in all teaching and preaching.

I never really believed that Jesus was poor and I never preached about a poor Messiah. I think the Holy Spirit gave me the true revelation a long time ago.

In my mind, I never accepted the fact that a very rich God who owns it all would choose to send his only begotten son to earth as a poor person.

The fact that Mary and Joseph were not so rich is true, but the birth of Jesus and the gifts of the magi radically changed their status.

Before his birth, they could barely afford the minimum offering in the temple. But the visit of The magi who came from the east and were very wealthy changed everything when they brought the most expensive gifts to Jesus: Gold, Myrrah, and Frankincense.

According to experts Myrrh was the most expensive gift and gold the cheapest at that time.

These gifts supported the family for their whole life. They could afford the escape to Egypt and stay there for five months.

Then Joseph disappears from the gospel when Jesus was between 12 and 30 years old and there is no mention in the gospels that Jesus was poor nor that anyone had said such a thing about him.

In fact, he said once: the poor are with you all the time, but not I, because he wasn't poor.

He paid for his 12 disciples for three years because they left their jobs and followed him.

He himself didn't have a job, because his assignment was to preach daily the kingdom of God and do the signs and miracles.

In addition, Judas stole money all the time from the treasury and he was not caught because Jesus' ministry was rich and it is easier to know when someone is stealing when there is not so much money.

Jesus didn't take donations or offerings from people and he didn't have partners like most preachers today and he only could do that because he was rich.

God is good and rich and he provided richly for Jesus and his family from birth to ascension and he will do the same for all his children no matter time and place and we enter into a new year with faith and confidence.
